Willard has provided consulting services to major universities in California. The Willard Family has also funded four chairs in the Department of Physical Sciences at the University of California at Los Angeles.

IoT has many applications in education including security, admissions, interactive learning via IoT enabled applications, improvements in efficiency of staff, students and the environment as a whole.
